Who We Are

Gary

My name is Gary Davidson, and I am the homeschool dad who didn’t quit teaching after his last child grew up and left home. I have remained active in the homeschool community, and recently completed my second year of teaching in a homeschool-hybrid school, which followed 20 years of volunteer teaching at the Red River Christian Homeschool’s (RRCH) Enrichment Classes in Gainesville, TX.

My passions are history and natural resources management. While I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University, with second majors in Forest Recreation and History, in 1979, I am still an eager student myself, and will look for any excuse to study.

I believe that history is His story, and my goal in teaching classes is to make history come alive through interactive teaching and retelling of the great story of God’s dealings with mankind.

Kari

My homeschool journey began in 1983 as single mom of two in Terral, Oklahoma. Gary joined our family’s homeschooling journey upon our marriage in 1986, with our youngest child graduating from homeschool in 2011.

As a homeschool mom, I’ve pioneered and directed two different homeschool groups, organizing them to include monthly offsite educational trips and weekly co-op groups, including Red River Christian Homeschool’s (RRCH) Enrichment Classes, which averaged 150 students annually over the course of 11 years. It was my responsibility to organize teachers, classes, rules, handbooks, and other materials. In 2012 I passed leadership of the RRCH Enrichment Classes to a new board following the graduation of my youngest child.

In 2005 I organized and directed the Heart for Homeschoolers Conference, which featured keynote speakers from the homeschool movement and included two days of conference workshops.

Since the 1980s, I have also consistently founded, led, and contributed to various children’s church ministries.

I teach from the heart. My passion is helping students develop a love of learning and to see, even in difficult subjects, the usefulness and deeper meaning in what they are learning—and especially its connection to our Creator.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
